Welcome, Victoria Pitts Caine!

Author Introduction

 

I am a native Californian who enjoys visiting the mountains and the Central California Coast and the proximity to both the state offers. My varied interests include genealogy and exotic gemstone collecting both of which I’ve incorporated into my novels. While my genre is inspirational romance, I have ventured into other areas in the past few years.

I’ve received recognition from: Enduring Romance Top 10 Picks, an honorable mention Persie Award from the William Saroyan Writing Conference, and additional honors from:  Byline Magazine, Writer’s Journal Magazine, HI Families Magazine, and The Southern California Genealogical Society.

The trilogy:  Alvarado Gold, Cairo, and The Tempering Agent as well as my novellas, Like a Lily and Not Bound by Time, have been on the Amazon’s genre bestseller lists. Publications include The Front Porch, True Love, Short Stuff, Living for the Whole Family, Manzanita Literary Society, and many others.

I will have a short story in a YA anthology due out in December and I and currently working on a mystery/suspense mainstream romance.

I’m mother of two daughters and an enthusiastic crafter using my gemstone knowledge to incorporate the ancient art of silver wrapping into award winning jewelry. I facilitate a critique group weekly and enjoy helping other authors find their way.

A Note from Katy

Book Cover Image1400Thank you for your interest in the positive messages held within this writing.  This story came to me spiritually through my dreams and I recorded it.  The idea to turn it into a novel came from a challenge that was very surprisingly laid down by Mr. Tom Cruise, in an episode of Inside the Actor’s Studio.  He said, “you have voice…use your power to do good”.

His message resonated with me.  I slowly moved away from the lucrative software consulting career that had provided me with a very fortunate existence for almost twenty years.  I began to forge together the moments of my life that were the most meaningful and brought true joy and contentment.

I found myself reading, studying and eventually writing about a world where we are all connected, content and in harmony with Nature and the grand Universe around us.

I believe dreams can become our destiny when we seek the truth within us, and I hope each of you use your power to do good!

A Message From Joanne

H1010012I am an author of inspirational and romantic suspense novels. My husband and I are Network Marketing Coaches and owners of Mustard Seed Marketing Group, LLC. We have several active blogs and readers are encouraged to visit our Author’s Corner Blog, a place for authors and readers to connect. We host various blog parties throughout the year and many guest authors stop by to meet with readers. My newest release is an inspirational romance novel, Mr. Shipley’s Governess and my current work in progress is a YA Fantasy Novel. This is my first foray into the genre of YA fiction and it is exciting growing and stretching myself as an author.

It’s fun to bring my characters to readers’ lives for them to enjoy their story. In Mr. Shipley’s Governess, I wanted to write a tale of love and inspiration with a romantic hero, and a heroine in need of “rescuing.” Now, this is not a damsel-in-distress tale per se, like a knight in shining armor rescuing the imprisoned princess. However, this is more of a modern day twist. The hero, Sebastian Shipley is a well-to-do business man who has a daughter with an illness. She is in need of a live-in tutor. Into the picture comes the heroine, Sophie Baird. So what does she need rescuing from? A few months earlier, her parents died in a car accident and she needs to escape the pain of their death and be rescued from her life.

One of my favorite authors is Jane Austen. I love her books, my favorites–Emma, Sense & Sensibility and Pride & Prejudice. I thought it would be neat to include some Austenesque elements into the book and my heroine is also a huge Austen fan. I wanted to write the book with an old-world romance style but in a contemporary setting. My goal was to maintain a classic tone reminiscent of some of the treasured books I’d grown up reading. I hope readers love Sophie and Sebastian as much as I enjoyed creating them.
